What is Chronic Hashimoto's Autoimmune Thyroditis?
Hashimoto's Syndrome is a form of chronic autoimmune thyroiditis. It is a progressive disease of the thyroid that will eventually destroy the thyroid gland and cause a lack of thyroid hormone (hypothyroidism). "itis", like appendicitis causes an inflammation of the thyroid gland (it is named for Dr. Hashimoto). Can result in a goiter, and often causes hypothyroidism.

We CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. We CAN raise the awareness of this chronic autoimmune disorder. We CAN lobby the media to increase the awareness of this disease. We CAN ask governments for funding for this disease. We CAN ask educational institutions to begin and/or continue to conduct research into autoimmune disorders and into endocrine disorders! We CAN make a difference! Please help.
